Ormeau Football Club

Ormeau Football Club was founded in 2013 by a group of parents who recognised the necessity for a local soccer club in their community. With the support of the local council, they transformed an abandoned baseball field on Norfolk Park into what is now known as the Ormeau Football Club. From an initial 150 players, consisting of teams ranging from under 6 to under 12, the Club has experienced tremendous growth and currently boasts over 600 players, comprising 60 teams ranging from under 6 to senior men and women and including a successful Squirts program for 3-5 year old’s. The club is managed by a devoted committee and volunteers who are committed to providing a football club that is enjoyable, family friendly, and community-focused. Since its modest beginnings, the Club has undergone remarkable transformations, including the renovation of the small demountable clubhouse, installation of field lights and irrigation on all fields, procurement of spectator stands for the primary field, establishment of an equipment compound and construction of fencing around the main field. The Committee is dedicated to enhancing specific aspects of the Club each year, with Coach and Player development and the establishment of a new clubhouse being the primary focus for 2023. The Club plans to expand its facilities in the upcoming season, thanks to the assistance of the Gold Coast City Council, with the construction of a new clubhouse, change rooms, amenities and increased parking.
